Harvard Moves: HCNJ Garden State Hikers at High Point State Park

Description: Join Harvard NJ alumni for Harvard Moves - a global celebration of movement and community. The Harvard Club of NJ will be coming together for a Harvard Moves Meetup on Nov. 9th at High Point State Park, NJ.

Event logistics: We will meet at the Monument Trail Parking Lot 10:00am and start walking at 10:15 towards the trail head. Don’t forget your water bottle and snacks!
Directions: Follow signs to the park entrance, then drive Scenic Drive to the end, turn left onto Monument Drive, which leads to the large parking lot. Park at the main Monument Trail parking lot, which is at the end of the Scenic Drive, near the High Point Monument and Interpretive Center.
Hike the Appalachian Trail to the highest elevation in NJ, climb an obelisk, enjoy vast views of NJ, PA, and NY. Sussex County, NJ.
The Monument Trail Loop (3.4 mile) has some uphill hiking to start, then is mostly rolling and downhill. The well-marked Red/Green trail is easy to follow. From the High Point Monument there is an excellent viewpoint of the surrounding area. Before arriving back at the trailhead, you will hike along the shores of Lake Marcia.
