January Internship

Are you interested in a paid J-Term internship?

ATTENTION CURRENT UNDERGRADUATES! The Harvard Club of New Jersey is offering a January term internship next month. We are offering a stipend of $1500 to a Harvard College student who is willing to work on a project at one of the following organizations: Teach for America, the Newark Charter School Fund, or the Boys & Girls Club of Newark.

Teach for America contributes to the achievement of educational equity in our nation by enlisting, developing and mobilizing the leadership of outstanding individuals to address systemic issues confronting students in low-income communities. They are looking for a student to assist with alumni and community relations during the January term.

The Newark Charter School Fund (NCSF) works to support the quality, growth, and sustainability of the charter sector in order to provide all of Newark's students with access to great schools in collaboration with district efforts to improve the quality of Newark's public education. They are looking for a January intern to assist with either an annual financial audit or a discipline and school culture project.

The Boys & Girls Club of Newark provides hundreds of children in Newark with a safe space to learn to make positive life choices, establish healthy habits and develop academic skills. They have four main programs: after school, summer, teens, and community health. The Boys & Girls Club of Newark is looking for a Development Coordinator for the January term to work on marketing, campaigns and donor records.

If you have any interest in being a January term intern, please contact Harvard Club of New Jersey officer Mona Karim (monakarimmd@gmail.com) by December 21, 2016.  If you are not a current Harvard undergraduate but know of any Harvard undergraduate who would be interested, we kindly ask you to forward this email to them to let them know of this tremendous opportunity.

If you are unable to participate during the January term, but would be interested in a summer community service fellowship with any of these non-profits, or with a non-profit of your choice, please do not hesitate to contact us as well.
