Please join us at the seminar for an informative and lively discussion on what Harvard College looks for from the alumni interview and on how to conduct an excellent and informative interview. Alumni interviews remain a crucial part of the admissions process—particularly as Harvard continues to extend its outreach to students of any and all socio-economic backgrounds.

Please note that you must be a holder of an academic degree from one or more of the university’s ten faculties in order to be considered as an interviewer. Beyond the academic degree, here is what Harvard looks for in interviewers: “Participation in School Committee work is open to alumni/ae of Harvard College as well as to recipients of academic degrees from our graduate schools. Important prerequisites also include broad knowledge of the College, enthusiasm for your experience as a student at Harvard, familiarity with the Harvard undergraduate experience, and sincerity of purpose in working with prospective college students, their families, schools, and the general public” (Harvard College Interviewer Handbook 2018-2019, p. 7).

Over 1,000 high school seniors from northern New Jersey applied last year—and we expect a similar number this year. Our club aims to interview every applicant – something we can not do without your help.

Those of us who do interview agree that the few hours we spend with these high school seniors—many so distinguished and inspiring at such a young age—to be among the most worthwhile we spend every year.

We hope to see you October 6th!
