On April 14, 2012 the Harvard Club of NJ will host an event at the Raptor Trust in Millington, NJ. The event will feature a classroom session taught by a Raptor Trust instructor, and will not be open to the general public on a walk-in basis. The classroom session will last approximately 60 minutes.
The classroom session will be followed by a self-guided walking tour of the facilities. The Raptor Trust is a large, well-maintained complex consisting of a medical infirmary, and some 70 exterior cages and aviaries containing over 130,000 cubic feet of space. All are designed to accommodate the many recuperating birds that will be released, as well as the unreleasable individuals that permanently reside at the facility. Resident birds are housed in more open aviaries and are accessible for public viewing. Currently, there are approximately sixty hawks, eagles and owls of twenty different species that have found permanent homes at the Raptor Trust. Visitors to the Trust are afforded a unique opportunity to view many of these permanent residents at close range.
The Raptor Trust is one of the premier wild bird rehabilitation centers in the United States. Located in Millington, New Jersey, the Trust includes a hospital with state-of-the-art medical facilities, quality exterior housing for several hundred birds, and an education building. A stalwart advocate for birds of prey for three decades, it is now recognized as a national leader in the fields of raptor conservation and avian rehabilitation.

The education center is located adjacent to The Raptor Trust’s avian rehabilitation facility in Millington. The building houses an office, restrooms and a classroom that seats 35 people. The classroom contains raptor displays and an extensive avian library; the center is air conditioned and accessible to the handicapped. The parking area accommodates large buses as well as cars.
